History of the Firm

The GEDO group of firms is one of the leading German development and investment companies, especially in the shopping centre and retail park sector.

What is now the GEDO group of firms started in 1971. Bayerische Volks- und Raiffeisenbanken along with co-operative central banks set up a property leasing and a property development company.

The two companies merge in 1987. The DZ Bank acquires the capital shares.

 

 

In 1992 DRF Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH, Grünwald and the M.M. Warburg Bank Group, Hamburg, acquire the capital shares in the holding company GEDO Grundstücksentwicklungs- und Verwaltungsgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG.
The project development and investment in the retail sector becomes the focal point of corporate activity.

The GEDO Group transfers business to Grünwald in 1998.

In 2003, GEDO moves into the new company-owned office building in the centre of Grünwald.
